China lockdown, chip shortages hit Nissan Q1 net profit

Nissan said on Thursday that net profit sank nearly 60 per cent in the three months to June as pressures including a lockdown in Shanghai and chip shortages weighed on business. The Japanese auto giant, which in May reported a positive full-year net profit for the first time in three years, said it logged a net profit of 47.1 billion yen ($347 million), down 58.9 per cent.

Ford to run EV, internal combustion engine businesses separately

Ford Motor Co said on Wednesday its electric vehicle (EV) and internal-combustion engine (ICE) units would be run as separate entities, in a move aimed at supercharging its EV business as it plays catch up with Tesla Inc. India's January automobile retail sales hit by Covid 3rd wave, supply issues: FADA

Tesla delivers record 308,600 vehicles in Q4, beating estimates

Tesla Inc said on Sunday it had delivered a record 308,600 electric cars to customers in the fourth quarter of 2021, well above Wall Street estimates, thanks to a production ramp-up at the electric-car maker's Shanghai factory. Maruti Suzuki sales dip 4% to 1,53,149 units in December

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Saturday reported a four per cent fall in the total wholesales to 1,53,149 units in December 2021. The company had sold 1,60,226 units in December 2020, MSI said in a statement. In December 2021, the domestic sales slipped 13 per cent to 1,30,869 units last month as against 1,50,288 units in December 2020, it added.

Skoda reports over two-fold jump in India sales in October

Czech carmaker Skoda on Monday reported over two-fold jump in sales in India at 3,065 units in October 2021 riding on the back of its newly-launched mid-size SUV Kushaq.
