New data shows GSK-Vir drug works against all omicron mutations
The data, yet to be published in a peer-reviewed medical journal, shows that the companies' treatment, sotrovimab, is effective against all 37 identified mutations to date in the spike protein, GSK said in a statement.
GlaxoSmithKline on Tuesday said that its COVID-19 antibody treatment had positive results in lab tests that show it has the potential to be effective against the new omicron variant.
British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline said early-stage lab data shows its COVID-19 monoclonal antibody treatment, jointly developed with U.S. partner Vir Biotechnology, is effective against all mutations of the new Omicron strain.
Data is yet to be published in a medical journal or scrutinized by other experts in a peer-review.
