Woodbridge resident who embezzled from family company pleads guilty to tax evasion

December 10, 2021 — Leonard C Boyle, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Joleen D. Simpson, Special Agent in Charge of IRS Criminal Investigation in New England, today announced that Matthew V. Blackwell of Woodbridge, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty yesterday before U.S. District Judge Sarah A.L. Merriam in New Haven to one count of tax evasion.

Alabama Man Sentenced to 2 Years for Failing to Register as Sex Offender in Connecticut

Alabama News Leonard C Boyle, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, on Tuesday announced that YAMIL DIAZ, 48, formerly of Alabama, was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer in New Haven to 24 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for failing to register as a sex offender.
