Sussex County NJ schools funds cut in Phil Murphy spending plan

Thirteen county districts will see their funds cut by at least 10% if Murphy's budget passes. The vast majority of Sussex County districts have consistently seen funding cuts since Murphy signed legislation in July 2018 that reformed how state aid is distributed. The exception has been Newton, which has seen increases for four consecutive years. Newton schools Superintendent Ken Greene has the increases come after years of being underfunded.
