-- with the result of haley petit, the 17-year-old in this case. four death penalty verdicts, the jurors we are told in the courtroom, two of them are crying, this has been an emotional case for everybody. certainly, the families. but obviously, we've been talking about this jury is on the fourth delay of deliberation, what they had been through in that deliberation room, trying to decide on the appropriate punishment for this case. jurors are crying, the other jurors are comforting them and we roll on and we wait for the fifth verdict in this case, the next one is going to be on the murder of a kidnapped person. that will be for michaela, the 11-year-old, that is the next verdict you will hear about. patti ann: quick question, you mentioned jurors crying. do they say anything about the reaction of william petit? >> no reaction on william petit. we will ask him. i will tell you, throughout the penalty phase, throughout the wait, we have been told that dr. william petit has been stoic the
>> michael, obviously this is just one step in a long process for dr. petit and for the town of cheshire, which is not used to seeing this kind of thing. how has dr. petit been dealing with all of this? >> you know, it's amazing how of the town of cheshire has supported dr. petit and his family. they've been giving him great support over the years. you know, the site where the house once stood is now a memorial garden. friends and neighbors put this together. they've got a beautiful garden you can walk through it, there's a bench you can sit down, can reflect on the lives of these women that are no longer with us. and there's really no overt markers. i didn't remember seeing the name petit anywhere. but i went a couple of weeks ago and there's a stone marker that has the engraving of three roses, and it just says on it three angels. obviously referring to jennifer hawke-petit and her daughters michaela petit and haley petit. so a lot of support from the town. clearly they'd like to get this behind them.

yesterday for the first time jurors got to see these pictures. horrific, gruesome crime scene photos. we just saw the bed of 17-year-old haley petit. prosecutors say after her killers assaulted her, they tied her to that bed, they doused her with gasoline. those are some of the clothes that she was wearing. that's the 11-year-old, michaela, who was one bedroom down. a picture of the entire family. just unbelievable. jurors were able to see pictures of the rope that was still tied around the bed post. the killers used not only rope, but scarves, pantyhose to tie up the victims. the girls' mother was strangled and killed in the family's living room. stephen hayes, that's whose trial is going on now, and joshua. they followed the family home from the local supermarket, they drove jennifer to the bank telling her if she withdrew $15,000, no one in her family would be hurt. she got them the money, she told
