Despite some of their biggest challenges yet, firefighters across the Halifax Regional Municipality and beyond have been responding to numerous out-of-control wildfires this week.
On Wednesday, it was reported that the fire spreading throughout the Shelburne County area had reached over 17,000 hectares, making it the largest wildfire in Nova Scotia history.
The long list of requests include military firefighters, equipment, helicopters, financial support for modular housing, and skilled trades workers to help re-build.
As a more-than 800-hectare wildfire continues to burn in the Halifax area, police are warning the public about a suspicious call reported Wednesday.
