SHARJAH, 10th February, 2022 (WAM) -- The Energy Transmission Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) revealed its strategic plan for the development of energy transmission and distribution projects for 2022.
The plan includes the implementation of two power transmission stations voltage of 220 kV, 1 station of 132 kV, and 11 stations of 33 kV, in addition to a number of projects for improving and developing networks and upgrading stations, at an estimated cost of more than AED 925 million.

SHARJAH, 10th January 2022 (WAM) - Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority's (SEWA’s) Energy Transmission Department has announced the completion and operation of nine power transmission stations, as well as a number of development projects and network modifications, totaling more than AED480.8 million, in 2021.
The implementation of the networks came in accordance with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to better serve Sharjah's people.

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa) signed an agreement with the Dutch Bundera Consult Company to establish an advanced weather station in the Central Region.

The new facility will collect data and develop a climate information base for future use in preparing studies on renewable energy projects from wind and solar energy.

Sewa's move is aimed at promoting sustainability and developing a comprehensive energy strategy to seek the best solutions and technologies to ensure energy efficiency according to the highest standards by encouraging cooperation with all actors, said Saeed Al Suwaidi, the Chairman of Sewa after signing the deal in the presence of Hamad Al Tunaiji, Director of the Energy Transmission Department at the Authority, and Eric Ernst, Director of the Dutch Bundera Consult Company.

On Saturday, rain lashed separate areas of the country and fog blanketed these areas. The rain started at 8am, as a result of the extension of a shallow air depression, accompanied by a weak air depression in the upper atmosphere, which resulted in instability of the weather conditions.
Light rain started to fall on islands of Dalma, Arazna, Zirko, Das and Sir Bani Yas in Al Dhafra region, and on Ruwais/Umm Al Ashtan/Jabal Dhanna.
Fog has formed on Sweihan and Al Khazna in Al Ain, on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Street in Abu Dhabi, on Saih Shuaib, Nazwa, Al Lisaili and Emirates Crossing road in Dubai, on Al Maktoum International Airport, on Abu Dhabi Al Ain Road, on Maliha in Sharjah and Manama in Ajman.

SHARJAH: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa) signed an agreement with the Dutch Bundera Consult Company to establish an advanced weather station in the Central Region, to collect data and develop a climate information base to be used in preparing studies on renewable energy projects from wind and solar energy.
The agreement was signed remotely by Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sewa, in the presence of Hamad Al Tunaiji, Director of the Energy Transmission Department at the Authority, and Eric Ernst, Director of the Dutch Bundera Consult Company.
Al Suwaidi stated that the authority is working under the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote sustainability and to develop a comprehensive energy strategy to seek the best solutions and technologies to ensure energy efficiency according to the highest standards by encouraging cooperation with all actors.
