No, you read that correctly, Mesut Ozil was deployed as a left-back. To be fair to Fenerbahce, they had a red card, and Ozil was one of the only left-footers on the pitch, so it made a small amount of sense to play him there, but seeing Ozil play there was baffling to say the least.
