What are your life goals? When my younger brother was four years old, he suffered a traumatic brain injury. After that experience, my perception of hospitals, and the people that work in them, changed for the rest of my life. Through that weeklong experience he spent in the intensive care unit, I witnessed the knowledge, compassion, and care that makes nursing so vital. I admired how the nurses were able to spend a considerable amount of time with patients and form a meaningful connection with them. There’s the appeal of just being proud that at the end of the day, you helped somebody in need. ....
