Hell's Blazes Tavern wall is only remnant at historic Middleboro site
It hasn’t. It wasn’t. However, the site itself has historic origins. The site was the spot where the original Hell’s Blazes Tavern was built in 1690 and was reported to be the oldest operating tavern in the nation. Hell’s Blazes was ironically destroyed in a fire in 1971. It was rebuilt and served as a private club for a little while before it once again opened to the public.
