May Canada exports surge 42% on-month

Phnom Penh is currently home to 9,314 factories and other manufacturing enterprises that employ 660,000 workers, including 340,000 hired at 727 “garment” plants who churn out merchandise exported to the EU, the US, Canada, Japan and other markets
The Kingdom exported “footwear, gaiters and the like; parts of such articles” to the tune of $558.542 million in the first five months of 2023, down 20.44 per cent year-on-year from $702.060 million and down 23.11 per cent half-on-half (compared to July-November 2022) from $726.4 million
Cambodia spent $159.755 million on imports of “iron and steel” in the first five months of the year, rising by 6.61 per cent year-on-year from $149.844 million as well as by 12.78 per cent half-on-half (compared to July-November 2022) from $141.65 million
Cambodia earned nearly $737 million from the export of milled rice and paddy to 49 countries and territories in the first five months of 2023, with China and the EU ranking as the first and second largest buyers of the processed grains.
