California State Parks is working with CAL FIRE to begin a series of prescribed burns in several San Luis Obispo County state parks between early November 2023 and March 2024.

The prescribed burns are taking place in both San Luis Obispo County as well as in Santa Barbara County in order to prevent future fires in the region.
– California State Parks is planning to begin a series of prescribed burns in several coastal park units from Oct. 2022 through March 2023. The effort will be carried out in cooperation with Cal Fire, the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District, and the Morro Bay Fire Department.
