Another initiative is Hasiru Rakshaka: “Under the BBMP limits, safeguarding the greenery of Bengaluru is a collective responsibility. In line with this, the BBMP has introduced three mobile apps and web links to encourage public participation in maintaining gardens and lakes. These apps, namely ‘Hasiru Rakshaka’, ‘Udyana Mitra’, and ‘Kere Mitra’, aim to foster a greener environment within the city,” said an official.

The online platforms will collect information from the maintenance contractor, BBMP officials and upload details about the number of inspections, survey documents, status of surveys conducted, inspection reports, and so on. Additionally, the inspections conducted by citizen volunteers will be logged into the system.
