Germany investing to strengthen Amazon Fund, minister says
Germany's Development Minister Svenja Schulze said on Monday the country was investing 35 million euros ($38.15 million) in the Amazon Fund as it looks to strengthen the initiative to protect the South American rainforest. Schulze announced the fresh investment in a press conference alongside Brazil's Environment Minister Marina Silva in Brasilia, a move already expected by Brazilian officials as the leaders of the two countries are set to meet later on Monday.
