LAKETOWN TWP. — In a split 4-1 vote, the Laketown Township board approved next year's township budget, nearly doubling the current operating millage for the township. The 0.45-mill increase from 0.55 mills to 1 mill amounts to about a $70 increase on the annual tax bill for the average homeowner in Laketown Township.
