VALDOSTA – To highlight the importance of addressing the issue of infant mortality and infant sleep related deaths, the Lowndes County Child Fatality Review Committee and South Health District’s Baby
Though it may sound like a simple food delivery service, the effort is addressing a complex issue: high infant mortality rates among Black residents in west Louisville.
Groceries are being delivered for free to Louisville families facing food insecurities.
Despite Lake County’s Point in Time (PIT) Count for 2023 not yet being published publicly, the increased need for homeless services is very apparent to county officials, struggling to keep their emergency shelter, located at 1111 Whalen Way in Lakeport, open. It is currently one of two homeless shelters operating in the county.
