PEOPLE are being urged to help the environment by donating unwanted Christmas trees. The 1st Helmsley Scout Group is organising a Christmas tree recycle scheme by collecting unwanted trees for a minimum donation of £5. Residents of Helmsley, Carlton, Sproxton, Ampleforth, Oswaldkirk, Gilling and Coulton can book a collection slot from 8am for the weekend of January 9 and 10.
