The Dent American Legion Post 148 visited St. Paul's Lutheran School on Wednesday, Sept. 14 to teach students about official flag disposal through participation in the ceremony.
Upwards of 900 people turned out for this year's festival.
"Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it," one speaker said, "it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it, and I would add that it continues to fly because of the service of our veterans!”
