The La Vernia Independent School District (ISD) is already saving money on staffing costs, after transitioning to a four-day instructional week, according to Superintendent Hensley Cone. Roughly $27,000 has been saved in reduced teacher absences, which are down from 1,461 to 881 for the same time period as last year, Cone said at the Sept.
