Greenfield: Man whose sister-in-law was killed by bandits writes presidency, demands justice

The family of Dorathy Yohanna, one of three students of Greenfield University, Kaduna killed by her abductors, have written a passionate letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, demanding justice.
Yohanna who had celebrated her birthday five days earlier, was one of the students abducted about four days ago on April 20 by the bandits, after an attack on the institution located in Chikun Local Government Area of the state, after which they demanded N800million ransom.
In the letter, her brother-in-law simply identified on Twitter as Yamai, conveyed the frustration of the family of the deceased, especially the mother, whom he said had neither eaten nor taken her bath since the abduction of her daughter through presidential spokesman, Tolu Ogunlesi. ....

Landlady's daughter beats tenant to death over electricity bill NEWS

An argument over electricity bills which ensued between a landlady’s daughter, Ms Tina Essi, and her tenant, has allegedly led to the tenant’s death in Ikorodu area of Lagos.
Until the dastardly incident, both were residents of No 26 Orijamogun Street, Oreyo, Ikorodu, Lagos.
However, Tina is currently cooling her heels with the at the State Criminal Investugatiins Department CID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
Giving details into Tina’s arrest, Spokesperson of the command, CSP Ademuyiwa Adejobi said Police preliminary investigation revealed that on January 31, 2021, an argument, over the payment of electricity bills, ensued between the duo which led to a fight. ....

COVID-19: Pauline Tallen tests positive

Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen has tested positive after a routine test conducted on her and members of the family.
According to a statement she personally signed, the minister said she was asymptomatic but was advised to go for the test which returned positive.
However, members of the minister’s family were negative.
The minister has gone into isolation and is receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the latest figure from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) shows that Nigeria has hit 83,576 with 829 new infections reported in 15 states, including the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos tops the list with 296 cases, followed by the FCT with 291, and Kaduna with 79. ....
