The Grassroot organization Rethink I-794 is proposing turning a portion of I-794 into a boulevard that will connect downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward.
After hitting pause three years ago on plans to build an apartment tower behind the Goll Mansion at 1550 N. Prospect Ave. on Milwaukee's East Side, Madison-based development firm Willow Partners is about to reboot the project, this time with plans they think will make for a better a building, as well as happier neighbors.
That program, sponsored by 1,000 Friends of Wisconsin, featured speakers, including an architect, talking about the benefits of removing the freeway.
Racine-based Twin Disc Inc. said Friday that it will move its "corporate team" in early 2023 to an office space that it is leasing in a building in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.
Twin Disc Inc. would lease 8,100 square feet on the fourth floor of an office building at 222 E. Erie St., according to a building permit application.
