Retracing the 130-mile path of the first man to map the Everglades

125 years ago, Hugh Willoughby became the first non-Native American to cross the southern Everglades and the first to map it. This October, four Floridians set out in canoes to retrace his 130-mile journey across the River of Grass. Their goal was to collect scientific data.
