ABC 10/CW5 Four people got lost at Hogsback Mountain Saturday. The group was from out of the area and they couldn’t relocate the trail to descend down. After getting caught in a rainstorm one of their members was separated. The missing member made a cell phone call to 911 and the Marquette County Central Dispatch located the group from the cell phone. The Marquette Sherriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team located the group leading them safely to their vehicle. No one was injured.
MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI-- A woman had to be rescued from Hogsback Mountain after she fell and hit her head on Monday. Marquette Township Fire and Rescue was alerted around 3:25 p.m. that the 40-year-old woman was about 20 feet from the top and was unable to walk. Firefighters from Marquette Township and Chocolay Township hiked the mountain with ropes, medical equipment and a stokes basket. They reached the victim after 1.5 hours of climbing.
