Unison accuses charitable trust of attacking workers' holiday entitlement


A CHARITABLE trust that cares for children and young people with serious disabilities has been accused of attacking its workers’ holiday entitlement and changing the way they are paid.
Hollybank Trust provides residential care, therapy and education for 150 children and young people in Kirklees, West Yorkshire.
Public-service union Unison says the trust plans to cut workers’ annual holiday entitlement from 32 days to 25 and introduce shifts of up to 14.5 hours.
The union says the trust also plans to change monthly pay from a fixed monthly sum to a fluctuating amount based on shifts worked each month. 
Unison area organiser Sarah Keig said: “We are currently consulting with our legal experts as to the potential for bringing claims against the trust, but this is not where anyone should want to be.  ....
