Heavy snow has hit parts of West Yorkshire tonight, with trans-pennine routes affected. At around 9.30pm, First warned that its bus services were only serving main roads in Bradford and would miss estates due to the deteriorating weather contitions. While some parts of the district saw little disruption, there were reports of heavy snow in Wyke, Wibsey and Allerton. Those who need to head towards Manchester from West Yorkshire are being advised to do so via the M62 as several lesser routes across the tops have been closed. South Kirklees was among the first parts of the county to see significant snowfall, with some roads impassable. ....

Derbyshire County Council say the A57 Snake Pass, the A54/A537 Cat and Fiddle and A6024 Holme Moss are shut due to the weather conditions. Highways England have also closed the A628 Woodhead Pass. During the night police said crashes were rolling in on the roads as the snow came hurling down. The Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said on Twitter: High Peak, Dales, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire areas all currently experiencing snow fall.
