a unique pageant of british history. tomorrow, the abbey will be the setting for the state funeral of her majesty queen elizabeth ii, an event on a scale not seen in britain since the death of the queen s father, king george vi, 70 years ago in 1952. her majesty s body has been lying in state at nearby westminster hall for the past four days, where hundreds of thousands of people have filed past the coffin in silence, giving thanks for the longest reigning monarch in british history. among those keeping vigil in the hall have been the late queen s grandchildren, including the prince of wales and the duke of sussex. well, tonight that process is far from over. there will be a national one minute silence at eight o clock tonight, while the queues are still stretching over lambeth bridge along the south bank of the thames as people hope to reach westminster hall before the doors close at 6.30 in the morning. tomorrow, the day of the state funeral, will be a public holiday in the ....
