Marquette coach Shaka Smart reminded his team before its game against unheralded St. Thomas (Minnesota) about the unusual results involving AP Top 25 teams a night earlier. Oso Ighodaro scored 21 points, Tyler Kolek had 12 points and 10 assists, and Marquette hung on to beat St. Thomas 84-79 on Thursday night in the Golden Eagles’ final game before opening Big East competition.
