2 die, 3 injured as gas explosion rocks Gbenga Daniel's hotel

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that three others were said to have sustained injuries in the explosion and are currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
Confirming the incident, the Hotel Facility Manager,
Tunde Osinubi, in a statement, said the explosion occurred as a result of a fake gas cylinder used while servicing a revolving door at the hotel.
A routine maintenance of the Automatic Revolving Door at the entrance of the hotel reception, which involved the use of oxyacetylene gas to weld the door hinges, was being carried out.
The oxyacetylene gas cylinder suddenly exploded, killing the technician and one other person, yet to be identified. ....

Gas explosion kills two, injures three in Ogun

Two persons died while three others were injured in a gas explosion which occured at Conference Hotel, Abeokuta, on Tuesday.
This development happened few days after two persons, including an infant, died of a gas explosion at the Oke-Egunya area of the state capital.
The hotel is owned by the former governor of the State, Chief Gbenga Daniel.
According to a statement issued by the Hotel Facility Manager, Engr Tunde Osinubi, the incident occurred when a technician was carrying out routine maintenance on the automatic revolving door at the entrance of the hotel reception which involved the use of oxyacetylene gas to weld the door hinges. ....

Austin s and Travis County s top health leaders have said coronavirus vaccination and testing appointments will remain canceled until conditions from the historic winter weather improve.
Dr. Mark Escott, interim Austin-Travis County health authority, and Austin Public Health Director Stephanie Hayden-Howard usually update the public twice weekly on the latest vaccination efforts and other coronavirus data. However, those meetings were canceled after Escott and Hayden-Howard were called in to respond to weather-related emergencies at local hospitals once the severe winter storms began.
Austin Public Health released frequent updates on vaccination and testing cancellations throughout the week, but Escott and Hayden-Howard on Thursday issued new information saying appointments would be canceled for a seventh day because of dangerous roads and freezing conditions. ....
