A new hotfix is now available to download.
A new Returnal update shared by the developer, Housemarque Games, today and is now available to download.
Hopefully, Returnal didn’t have a rough launch in case of bugs or technical issues. That being said, for roguelike games, even the minor bugs could lead to big disappointments.
MORE FROM RETURNAL: The Returnal Bug Has Players Stuck in a Lockdown Room

'Returnal' review: A real test of bullet hell gaming

The setup for Returnal plays out like Tom Cruise's
Edge of Tomorrow, and if you watched
Love Death + Robots’ episode ‘Beyond the Aquila Rift’, it will strike a chord here. You play an astronaut named Selene who is stuck on the planet Atropos. You relive the moment her spaceship crashed on a loop. There are two characters in the game — Selene and the ever changing Atropos.
If you have ever seen the first
Alien movie or
Prometheus by Ridley Scott, Atropos looks like it has jumped right out of the planet where they discovered the Derelict. Replacing H.R Gieger’s organic art with fairly generic architecture, the mood is still there, as every area is shrouded in a thick mist, with all sorts of creatures. This game is a study in great environmental storytelling.

Returnal Pre-Order Bonus Includes Two Black Suits, According to Amazon

Currently,
Returnal is PS5’s closest-to-launch big-budget exclusive that will be available in March this year. The game is already available for pre-order, and as usual, it seems there will be some unique in-game properties for those who buy
Returnal before launch.
As Amazon has listed on the pre-order page for
Returnal, the game will have two different suits designed in Black & Yellow as pre-order bonuses. It’s yet to be seen whether this is the only bonus for pre-purchasing the game or more will be revealed as we get closer to the game’s launch. The suits have been listed by both the UK and Germany branches of Amazon. It’s worth noting that the PlayStation store has also listed the suits as pre-order bonuses, but thanks to Amazon, now we can take a look at those suits as well:

Returnal Gameplay Shown in Housemarque Developer Interview

Returnal Gameplay Shown in Housemarque Developer Interview
Housemarque Games has published a new developer interview video that shows off some gameplay from
Returnal, its upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive. The studio, which is perhaps best known for its arcade-like experiences like
Resogun and
Matterfall, debuted the footage as part of the newest entry in its HouseCast interview series. In the video, game director Harry Krueger talks about Housemarque’s thought process when approaching its latest title, but there are several glimpses at gameplay tucked into the chat as well.
The
Returnal gameplay footage below seems to stay true to Housemarque’s promise of crisp visuals, explosive combat, and addictive gameplay, but there is a bit more here, too. For instance, Krueger talks about how the studio is taking advantage of the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers, as well as what it was like to translate their knowledge of 2D gaming and bullet hell design into a more three-dimensional experience.
