Seven hundred and thirty Israeli academics have signed a petition calling on their government to “take urgent measures to prevent starvation in the Gaza Strip [before] the humanitarian catastrophe gets out of control, causes mass death and becomes an indelible stain”. Signatories included the presidents of Tel Aviv University and the National Academy of Sciences.
