Parades, ceremonies highlight Memorial Day in Ionia County Sentinel Staff IONIA COUNTY — There are several events taking place in Ionia County to commemorate Memorial Day on Monday, May 31. In Ionia, the annual Memorial Day parade takes place at 10 a.m. downtown. The VFW David Hugh Post 12082 is hosting the parade. A special ceremony takes place after the parade on the lawn of the Ionia County Courthouse and ends with a full gun salute.
