'Tripura govt resorting to whataboutery on violence' | India News - Rashtra News : Rashtra News #Tripura #govt #resorting #whataboutery #violence #India #News #Times #India NEW DELHI: Advocate Prshant Bhushan, appearing for PIL petitioner Ehtesham Hashmi who is seeking an independent probe into the alleged communal violence in Tripura during the state civic body elections

Ansar Indori told The Wire, 'I believe the raid is to harass me after I challenged their FIR. It is an attempt to threaten or falsely implicate me given my fight for human rights.'

The Tripura government has asked the Supreme Court to dismiss a PIL filed for probe into recent violence in the state, saying it was based on "self-serving report", "planted and pre-planned articles" and filed by individuals, who were selectively outraged with it, though they remained silent on large scale pre and post-poll violence in West Bengal.
