It's always hot in July in Kansas City, but the National Weather Service said Wednesday's heat was historic for one city.
Many parts of the KMBC viewing area saw heat indices reach well over 100 degrees and the actual temperature reach 100 degrees.
It will be mostly clear Wednesday night with lows near 80. On Thursday, highs will be near 100.
Standing water has been an issue with recent storms. One place in particular is Northbound Interstate 35 at West Pennway in Kansas City.
