Many thanks to everyone for speaking up,” his lawyer, Barr. Kayode Akinsola disclosed on Monday. Adedayo was detained by the secret police last Friday after honouring an invitation following a petition filed against him by the state government.

The Department of State Services (DSS) is detaining the Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State, Wale Adedayo, to protect him, a source in Nigeria’s secret police has said. Adedayo was detained by the DSS on Friday evening in Abeokuta, the state capital after he honoured an invitation to appear, SaharaReporters reported on Friday.

Falana Demands Immediate Release Of Detained Council Chairman, Adedayo, Who Accused Ogun Governor, Abiodun Of Diverting Over N17Billion LG Funds
Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to release the chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Mr Wale Adedayo immediately. Falana on Sunday also advised Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to sue the detained council chairman for libel.
