The Lagos State Government on Sunday gave a four-day relocation notice to all squatters under the Obalende bridge as well as illegal motor park operators and buses who have moved to the main roads. The directive came from the Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab and his counterpart in the transportation ministry, Oluwaseun Osiyemi.
A woman, Chinendu Ogu, who said she lived blocks away and sold abacha (cooked cassava flakes) around the area, said the fire must have raged for more than four hours.
An oil tanker fully loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol has crashed into a truck and damaged several vehicles and other public utilities worth millions of naira in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.
