India’s first private space mission is set to launch on November 18, with the Vikram-S rocket scheduled for lift off from Sriharikota.
Vikram-S is one of the world's first few all-composite rockets with solid 3-D printed thrusters for the launch vehicle's spin stability.
Following the successful execution of the Prarambh Mission Skyroot co-founder & CEO, Pawan Kumar Chandana said the event symbolised the potential of New India, where a small step by a space startup translated into a giant leap for the Indian space industry.
The 'Prarambh' mission and the Vikram-S rocket have been developed by Skyroot Aerospace start-up in Hyderabad with support from ISRO and IN-SPACe.
The mission named Prarambh or “the beginning” will be launched from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) spaceport at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota off the Andhra Pradesh coast at 1130 hrs on Friday, November 18.
