The city of Marina is the lead agency on the Imjin Parkway Widening and Roundabout Project which is a planned two-year effort to widen and increase safety on an important artery linking the Salinas area to the Monterey Peninsula through Marina. The project will effect 1.7 miles of roadway and will include constructing four roundabouts, increasing the stretch to four lanes, and is the first regional Measure X project to be built.

Traffic will be impacted this week along Imjin Parkway as work is performed in preparation for the widening and roundabout project now scheduled to begin Feb. 5.

A project aiming to improve a major traffic artery between the Salinas area with the Monterey Peninsula through Marina has been delayed for the past few weeks due to weather but officials still hope to see work start this month.
