That for us. s so dr., should we be shifting this conversation give what we see happening with the vaccines right now in the ability to evade many of the folks out there who are vaccinated. should we be shifting to this conversation about community because it doesn t seem like government officials want to do it. how do you change that conversation? shannon, as you know, this i a drumbeat i ve been beating since the beginning i feel like a broken record player on fox predominantly advocating for th fact that this pandemics achilles heel as the immunity not necessarily the vaccination of course the vaccination is on pathway to immunization. but, these officers are really demonstrating quite a bit of courage. they are following the science. the city of boston and the administration is again demonstrating that we are falling away from the science from the government perspective our government is not following ....

It shows that after you get that third immunization, whereas it was, you know, reinstalling 90%, 95% protection versus the previous lineages, it s around 70% to 75% against omicron. still pretty good and much better against hospitalizations. but against symptomatic infections, 70%, 75%. the problem is it s not holding up. it seems to be going down quickly after two or three months, down to maybe 30% to 40% according to imperial college. the idea for the fourth immunization, again, is another way to keep our health care workers in the health care workforce to rebump up their virus neutralizing antibodies. so my recommendation specifically for the health care workers, although israel is extending that not only to health care workers but those individuals either over the age of 60 or 70, and like so many other things, we depend so heavily on israel and the uk for vaccine effectiveness data, and we ll see what happens with that ....

Everyone? kate, i think it returns us to the fundamental observation that even though the vaccines that we have available probably aren t fantastic at preventing you from getting infected with omicron we ve seen data out of israel that even a fourth booster dose is not going to protect you, it still protects you significantly against severe disease and hospitalization. honestly, to get on top of this situation with our hospital s critical shortages of staff getting infected, still overwhelming patients coming to the emergency department for symptoms and getting tested, we really need to rely on immunization, especially before we get to a new variant which i very much hope we don t. absolutely. the biden administration as part of this just announced it s going to be distributing 400 million n95 masks to the public for free. ....

You are now months out from the second mrna shot, you only have somewhere between a 20% and 30% level of protection from symptomatic infection with omicron. why would we consider you to be fully vaccinated? you are fully vaccinated if you received the maximum amount of protection you can from a course of immunization. now we know that is three shots for mrna vaccine. only 19% of the country 19% of people who live in this country are boosted. so, the vast majority of people in the country are not fully vaccinated and at risk of infl infli infe infection. until we realize that, we won t get to where we need to be. boost everybody who needs bo boo boosting. it is like the language needs ....
