    A man identified as Confidence Amatobi has allegedly broken his two-month-old baby’s arm for “disturbing his sleep.” The incident that happened in Imo State has attracted condemnation and outrage, as the assault on the little baby led to the amputation of the fractured arm. Meanwhile, the Imo State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), and the National Human Right Commission (NHRC) have called on the State Government and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to immediately arrest and prosecute the suspect.

The Nigeria Police Force says it has yet to receive any official complaint about a two-month-old baby whose father allegedly broke his arm for crying.  SaharaReporters reported earlier that a man identified as Confidence Amatobi, a native of Amurie in Isu LGA of Imo state, allegedly broke his two-month-old baby’s arm for “disturbing his sleep.”

The incident came to light when the child's mother raised a complaint against the father.
