The Department of the Interior’s Office of Native Hawaiian Relations announced the awarding of $1 million in grants to eight Native Hawaiian organizations to implement the Native American Tourism and Improving Visitor Experience Act.

The U.S. Interior Department announced $1 million in funding for Native Hawaiian organizations across the state through the Heritage Opportunities in Hawaiʻi Grant Program.

The Department of the Interior’s Office of Native Hawaiian Relations estimates that it will award eight HŌʻIHI grants ranging between $50,000 and $200,000. Native Hawaiian Organizations may use grant funding for up to three years from the date of award.
