imran khan as you said has been arrested and a couple of months ago when he was arrested on may 9 there were widespread protests across the country. so there is an air of trepidation here in pakistan, imran khan was arrested by a heavy police presence at his residence in the city of lahore. he is now being transported via road, we re being told from lahore to the capital of islamabad where he will potentially appear in court. like you said there has been appeal made by the bti, by imran khan s lawyers to the supreme court, but, again, we re waiting to see whether this will lead to protests. the chief secretary has called for peaceful protests because previously there has been an immense crackdown this past summer on imran khan s supporters, many of kanaka ole s senior party leads and aides have quit the party and joined
montanans first amendment right to free speech. pakistan s former prime minister, imran khan, says dozens of police have surrounded his home in the city of lahore and that he expects to be arrested once again. his comments came hours after the government accused him of harbouring supporters who last week attacked military buildings in protest at his detention. soliders have surrounded ecuador s parliament, after the president, guillermo lasso, dissolved the body and gave himself the power to rule by degree. the opposition led body had been pursuing an impeachment investigation into the president over corruption claims. mr lasso has called an election, but not yet set a date. he is legally allowed to rule by decree for up to six months. stay with us here on bbc news.
