AUGUSTA — Governor Janet Mills today formally requested that President Joe Biden issue a Major Disaster Declaration to help ten Maine counties recover from the severe December storm that brought
Ten counties in central and western Maine sustained more than $20 million in public infrastructure damage when a powerful storm on Dec. 18 brought historic flooding and widespread power outages to the state.
Those who have been impacted by the flooding have until just Thursday, July 20 to apply FEMA and Small Business Administration aid.
State and federal officials say financial assistance is still available after the September storm, despite FEMA applications closing in February.
