Staying south of the area but if you look at the farthest western portion of the track we could see an impact friday evening. continues off to the north by saturday. likely to hit halifax as a remnant low. so much to consider. there s always warnings out here. we re talking from dodge city or surf city. warnings in effect and mandatory evacuations in place here in the outer banks out towards hatteras island. now, let s talk about what s expected. you re talking about 2 to 4 inches of rain right where there s the impact. remember, it s supposed to have the impact right during high tide so we ll have to add additional water including a storm surge of 2 to 4 feet and waves, 10 to 20-foot waves out here. it s beautiful but know it won t stay this way for long. exactly right. indra, thanks so much. we ll get back to you as soon as possible. right now we re looking at jobs. in two hours the june jobs report will be released by the labor department. coming out a day earlier than normal, w ....

Little while ago it was a very different picture here. just take a look, not many people in the water. the surf is definitely rough. most of the people we re seeing out here are just walking along the shore, taking in the waves, but staying out of the water, which is exactly what officials here in wrightsville beach are asking people to do, stay out of the water, because even if it s calm right now, arthur is churning in the atlantic, and he is causing rip currents, and that is a very real danger on a day like today. now, we have been seeing periods of high winds and heavy downpours here in wrightsville beach, and we are expecting to continue to see that throughout the morning, and the afternoon. ana? stay away from the water. we know that storm surge is still coming. alina machado thanks so you. watches and warnings blanket the coast there. let s travel 230 miles north. meteorologist indra petersons is on the beach in kill devil hills. what are you seeing there, indra? reporter: ....

Carolina coast, we should check in with the emergency management division there as well. indra is in north carolina, derek becker is the public information coordinator there in south carolina, joining us by phone. derek, thanks for taking a few minutes of your time with us. what you guys seeing there right now? good morning, ana. obviously there s a lot of attention with hurricane arthur being the first named storm of the hurricane season coupled with a holiday weekend. right now what we re seeing is arthur based on what we heard from the national weather service is probably the closest it s going to be to the south carolina coast. we re not expected to get anything more than what we would see in a severe thunderstorm with the exception of the heavy rip current, which the entire eastern seaboard should be affected by that. lots of people are visiting south carolina or visiting the beaches in south carolina right now. it s going to be very important to pay attention to the weather ove ....
