The Alvheim field is one of the most successful developments on the Norwegian continental shelf. When PDO was submitted to the Government in 2004, the reserves estimate was 171MMboe. Production from the Alvheim field exceeded this volume in early 2014.
Today the Alvheim FPSO celebrates fifteen years of oil and gas production. The field and the production vessel have over-performed since production commenced on 8 June 2008. Perhaps the best birthday present comes from the Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Terje Aasland, who today granted approval for the development of Tyrving, which will be a tie-in to Alvheim.
Aker BP and its partners have made investment decisions for the development of the Hanz oil and gas discovery in the Norwegian North Sea.
