The DLC was confirmed in a recent Reddit AMA.
Tripwire Interactive confirmed, in a recent Reddit AMA (via
Push Square), that the game will be getting some DLC. Art director Sean McBride said:

DLC has been confirmed! The team has been working on it for a while now. Hoping to share more information very soon.”
While there’s not a huge deal to go off, fans of the game, both new and old should be excited. There’s plenty of scope to expand the world, offer new upgrades and new adversaries for your giant shark. It sounds like we won’t have to wait too long either.
