RCMP asking for information about hitchhikers after woman, 35, found dead in Kootenays Mounties are investigating the suspicious death of a 35-year-old woman in the Kootenays. Brenda Ware was found dead 54 kilometres northeast of Radium on May 6 along Hwy 93. Police are now asking for anyone who encountered hitchhikers in the area to come forward. The charity, Association for Rehabilitation of Communication and Oral Skills (ARCOS), is speaking up in support of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, which starts on Monday, May 10.
