Man, 18, stabbed in the chest in attack in Bournemouth's Lower Gardens


AN 18-YEAR-OLD man is in a critical condition after being stabbed in the chest in an unprovoked attack in Bournemouth's Lower Gardens.
Detectives have now launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Dorset Police received a report that at around 11.50pm last night an 18-year-old man had sustained a stab wound to the chest after being assaulted in the Lower Gardens in the town centre.
The victim had been walking in the gardens toward Bournemouth Pier with two friends when they walked past a man and a woman who were sitting on a bench.

Driver fights for life after crash near Sherborne in north Dorset


Driver fighting for life after serious crash involving Subaru and Toyota on country road
A DRIVER is fighting for life following a crash on a country road.
Police were called to the unclassified road near Keepers Cottage in the Gainsborough Hill area near Sherborne at 7.27am yesterday.
The collision involved a silver Toyota and a blue Subaru.
The driver of the Toyota – a man aged in his 50s from the Sherborne area – suffered serious injuries and was taken to Yeovil District Hospital. He was later transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Subaru – a woman aged in her 50s from the Bradford Abbas area – sustained minor injuries.

Forensics officers investigate Bournemouth stabbing


FORENSICS officers are carrying out investigations at the scene of a stabbing in Bournemouth town centre.
Two areas of the Lower Gardens have been cordoned off by police following the unprovoked attack, which took place late on Tuesday.
An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the chest. He remains in a critical condition.
This morning a footpath, two benches and a bin near Westover Road has been taped off while a larger section of the gardens between the crazy golf course and Pier Approach is also blocked.
Crime scene investigators were seen taking photographs this morning, while a number of yellow marker cones to pinpoint potential evidence had been placed on the ground.

Suspected thieves crash into police car in Cavendish Road, Bournemouth


A vehicle collided with a police car as officers investigated the theft of a catalytic converter
SUSPECTED thieves crashed into a police car as officers responded to a call about the theft of a catalytic converter.
Officers were called to Cavendish Road, Bournemouth to reports that a catalytic converter was being stolen from a parked Honda Jazz.
Police attended at 10.45pm on Tuesday May 25 and a collision took place between the police vehicle and car suspected to be involved in the theft.
The occupants fled and now police have appealed for information from the public.
A search of the area was carried out, assisted by the NPAS helicopter, but the offenders were not found.

A man verbally abused a woman in her 70s in St Swithun's Road, Bournemouth on the morning of Saturday May 8 2021
A MAN shouted abuse at a woman in her 70s who asked him to move away because he was too close to her in an early morning incident in Bournemouth.
Police have now appealed for witnesses to the incident, which took place in St Swithun's Road at 5.50am on Saturday May 8.
Officers said the woman was approached by a man who said "hello" before touching her on the arm.
The victim told the man that he was too close and he began to shout repeated verbal abuse at her as she walked away.

Police appeal after Poole motorcyclist is killed in crash near Weymouth


The crash, which took place as four motorcyclists rode together, took place outside Weymouth yesterday.
Police were called to the scene on the A353 Preston Road at Osmington Hill at 5pm.
Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the rider of a blue Yamaha was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.
Initial enquiries indicate the group of four motorcyclists travelled from Greenhill in Weymouth and along Preston Beach Road before travelling up to Osmington Hill prior to the collision.
Sergeant Rhys Griffiths, of the traffic unit, said: "Our thoughts remain with the family of the young man who sadly died and we are continuing our investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision.

Image appeal after racially aggravated incident near Boscombe pier

POLICE hunting a man who kicked his dog and racially abused a man who asked him to stop have released an image.
The racially aggravated public order incident took place at around 9am on Thursday April 22 near Boscombe pier in Bournemouth.
The victim - a local man in his 50s - asked him to stop kicking his dog.
A verbal altercation occurred, during which the man was racially abusive toward the victim and another member of the public that was in the vicinity.
Officers attended and carried out a search of the area for the man with the dog, but he was not located.

A 14-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a man who attempted to rob him in Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth
A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was sexually assaulted by a Hampshire man who  allegedly attempted to rob him in the street.
Police have appealed for information following the incident which took place in Bournemouth at around 8pm on Thursday April 29.
The boy was approached by a man who touched him inappropriately and searched his pockets in Holdenhurst Road, near to the roundabout at the junction with Wellington Road.
The man made off when as a passing police officer saw the incident and went to intervene.
