Celebrating Palestinian Poet And Novelist Mourid Barghouti

The
renowned Palestinian poet and novelist Mourid Barghouti died
on 12 February 2021, at the age of 77 in Amman,
Jordan.
He was born in the village of Deir Ghassaneh,
near Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank in 1944, 4 years
before the State of Israel came into existence.
In
1963, Barghouti travelled to Cairo to study English
Literature. After Israeli authorities occupied the West Bank
in the 1967 Middle East war, they banned him from returning
back to his village near Ramallah.
Barghouti spent
most of his life in exile in Egypt, Hungary, Lebanon and
Jordan.
Wherever he was, under whatever circumstances,

Businesses Found In Breach Of Pesticides Act

The Consumer Council of Fiji and the Ministry of
Agriculture have issued a stern warning to businesses and
individuals that no pesticides may be used, offered for sale
or sold in Fiji unless it has been registered with the
Registrar of Pesticides. Individuals and businesses are also
being cautioned that it is illegal to change or temper the
formulation of any registered pesticide without the approval
of the Registrar.
This warning comes after the Council
and the Ministry received multiple complaints from aggrieved
consumers of businesses and individuals retailing pesticides
which does not meet its prescribed function and ....

111 Māori artists from the last 70 years,
Toi Tū Toi
Ora: Contemporary Māori Art exhibition
is the
largest exhibition in Auckland Art Gallery’s
history.
Framed by the Māori creation narrative, the
exhibition takes audiences through a powerful journey from
the very beginning. Indigenous artist, Nikau Hindin speaks
