good morning! and welcome to way too early, the show that wants to hear more about this four-day workweek idea. we re going to tell you about that little bit later on in the show. i am kasie hunt on this tuesday, march 16th. we ll start with the news. europe s fight against coronavirus just hit another snag as more countries hit pause on the astrazeneca vaccine due to concerns about side effects. germany, france, italy and spain have halted use of the vaccine after reports of blood clots in some people who had recently received shots. denmark and norway halted the shots last week. astrazeneca says a review of 17 million people found no increased risk of blood clots and the world health organization is urging countries to continue using it. this comes as europe faces a third wave of coronavirus amid a slow vaccine rollout. the shot, which was developed with oxford university, has not yet been approved for use in the united states. the fda is still reviewing data to d ....
Equity, being subsumed by its recent challenges. in the conversations i ve had last year, as the infrastructure fight drove democrats priorities, that was always at least one of the selling points. whether it is black neighborhoods, modernized in advance of a changing climate and an evolving economy, or the department of transportation actively trying to reduce the disproportionate number of black deaths on our roads. still, it s an election year, meaning the president and democrats have to sell those points to black voters if they intend to weather tough mid-term races. where that vote matters most. not an easy feat even for me to explain. fortunately, my next guest is quite literally the best guest to do exactly that. and he joins me now. united states secretary of ....
Mind about it, so those discussions will continue. you know, senator, since you said that, i spoke along with other leaders of national civil rights organizations, with several of your colleagues this week on a zoom call, and i don t have to tell you that the civil rights community, which made much of this agenda even feasible, intends to put as much pressure as they can on congress and the white house to commit to this agenda. what would you tell someone in that community who has watched our priorities be subsumed by an infrastructure fight that appears to be ending with this equity agenda in question? what would you tell them when they ask if it is worth it for democrats to prioritize that fight over voting rights? all of these fights are important because, reverend, all the battles we thought we had won on voting rights, on lgbtq ....
