days after the international criminal court issued an arrest warrant for him accusing him of war crimes. he made a stop in mariupol. ukrainian officials slamming the visit saying putin visits mariupol under the cover of night. cnn senior international correspondent ivan joining us live. what else did putin do while there? reporter: right. well, the kremlin says he arrived by helicopter. then he was shown in a pretty long unedited video driving a car, being briefed by a top kremlin aid. driving into the outskirts of mariupol. the aid was describing the situation and acknowledging that much of the city had been destroyed. that there were ruins of buildings being demolished and much of the city was also empty because ukrainians has fled. putin was shown meeting a couple of people who were living in what were described as newly constructed apartment buildings. those people thanked putin for their new homes saying they had had nothing before that. and we ve been hearing so ....

hello and welcome to bbc news. the vatican says pope francis has spent a good night in hospital after being admitted with a respiratory infection. a spokesman said he had been experiencing breathing difficulties, but they also confirmed he was not suffering from covid. the bbc s davide ghiglione is outside the hospital in rome. a spokesperson informed journalists that he spent a peaceful night at the hospital. so his condition remains stable at the moment. the vatican is trying to reassure journalists, people and catholics all over the world. according to italian news agency ansa, the pope should be discharged within the next couple of days. and he should be able to celebrate next sunday s mass. everybody knows at the vatican that the pope has been particularly weak over the last couple of months. we do know already that he was forced to use a wheelchair. so it could be quite tiring for him even if he is able to attend all the ceremonies and easter celebrations. we can ....

quarter of this year the bank s last quarter before it had to be rescued by swiss rival ubs. and they illustrate the scale of the crisis which was around the corner. between january and march, credit suisse made a pre tax loss of nearly $1.5 billion. to add to its woes, a massive amount of deposits were withdrawn in the three month period. total outflow was nearly $69 billion. and to remind you what happened next, when there were fresh doubts about the stability of the banking industry a few weeks ago, investors became increasingly fearful for the future of credit suisse. it was eventually bought by its swiss rival, ubs, in what was described as an emergency rescue. the $3 billion price tag was a mere fraction of what the bank would have previously been valued. let s get more now from russ mould, investment director at aj bell. worryingly for the bank, desposits are still being withdrawn. how significant is that? hello, yes, they did say they feel that the outflows ....
